Uruguayan-born singer/songwriter Valeria Matzner releases her debut solo album Anima on the Triplet Records label with her dynamic quartet featuring Scott Metcalfe on piano, Max Senitt on drums and Scott Kemp on bass.

Matzner’s music incorporates the rhythms and melodies of her native South America: the excitement of Brazilian samba, the sweet seductiveness of bossa nova and the passion of tango. Since arriving in Canada Valeria has collaborated with celebrated artists such as Juno-award winners Hilario Duran, Darren Sigesmund, Aleksandar Gajic, Darryl Jahnke, Celso Machado, Salvador Ferreras and Lache Cercel. Valeria has performed at prestigious jazz festivals and venues across Canada as well as in New York, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Manila and Tokyo.
